TrainFlow reframes corporate training around proven competency instead of completion checkboxes. Learners complete practical missions inside browser-based virtual labs (code editor, API simulator, security logs, case studies), submit evidence, and receive supervisor rubric reviews. Approved work becomes verified skills, an auto-generated portfolio, and a tamper-evident certificate with a public verification code — all under multi-tenant isolation for ministries, universities, companies, training centers, and academies, on your own infrastructure.

The challenge
Traditional corporate training relies on disconnected systems, static materials, and manual progress tracking. Supervisors could not verify practical skills, and leadership had no workforce analytics tied to real outcomes. Government and enterprise buyers also demanded data sovereignty, bilingual (Arabic/English) support, and no third-party AI or telemetry SDKs in core flows.
The solution
We built a modular monolith on Next.js with a strict service layer: mission workflows (assign → virtual lab → submit → review → approve), a 7-dimension supervisor evaluation rubric, TraineeSkill records linked to approved evaluations, auto-generated portfolios with visibility controls, and certificate issuance with public verification. Six roles and 21+ permissions with invite-only onboarding, org-scoped audit trails, and six report types with CSV export give leadership measurable workforce analytics — self-hosted on MySQL + Node.js.
Architecture
Next.js 16 App Router with a strict service layer, Prisma 6 ORM on MySQL 8, Auth.js (NextAuth v5) with JWT sessions and bcrypt, React Hook Form + Zod validation, and Tailwind CSS 4 with RTL support. Multi-tenant data isolation per organization, org-scoped audit logging, and 172 Vitest tests across 16 files. Explicitly excludes AI APIs, paid external services, and analytics/telemetry SDKs.
